Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
EDI is a standardized process of electronically exchanging business documents in machine readable
formats. Unlike e-mail and fax technologies, EDI encompasses a tightly defined data format that allows
businesses to share information on a computer to computer or application to application basis. At FMI we
have many customers who submit purchase orders through the EDI protocol. Flexible Metal's EDI protocol is ANSI ASC compliant. Our experience and continual growth in EDI-based
customer transactions reinforces our commitment to this most efficient technology.
Web / Internet
Our web-based technologies, like many businesses, continue to evolve at a fast pace.
www.flexiblemetal.com is in its first generation, and we are looking to continually improve by moving into
a next-generation site. This content-rich web site includes extensive product information, specifications,
and performance data. For established customers, orders may also be sent to FMI by email.
Fax Based Ordering
Although clearly not as high tech as EDI or web-enabled technologies, Flexible Metal, Inc. offers our
customers the option to electronically fax orders to our Customer Service team, where they are efficiently
and accurately processed.
